Leasing Co., Ltd. Role Description To support SMBC Americas
business growth strategy, SMBC Finance is executing a major
initiative to review and enhance critical Finance processes within
its US operations, including financial planning, reporting, and
data management. Working with core Finance teams and other key
colleagues (Technology, Risk, Compliance, etc.), Finance Change is
primarily responsible for establishing and managing large-scale
programs focused on implementation of processes, methodologies, and
systems that meet regulatory requirements and industry best
practices. Within the larger Finance Change team, Data Strategy
team is focused on developing and executing on a long-term vision
of Data Management capabilities (Data Sourcing and Governance)
across all finance functions (e.g., Treasury, FP&A, Controllers
etc.). SMBC is seeking a Business Analyst to support our
enterprise?wide Finance Transformation initiative. This role is
ideal for an experienced finance and data professional with deep
accounting knowledge, strong financial product expertise, and
hands?on experience working with subledger and general ledger
systems. The Vice President will play a pivotal role in ensuring
data integrity, defining accounting rules, strengthening
governance, and shaping SMBC’s target?state financial reporting
architecture. Responsibilities • Oversee identification, gathering,
and management of financial and accounting data across subledgers,
with emphasis on financial product behaviors. • Lead subledger data
analysis to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with
accounting standards. • Serve as the accounting and product SME
during the Oracle On?Prem to Cloud GL migration. • Define data and
file structures for source?to?Cloud GL data feeds. • Partner with
Finance, Product Control, IT, and the Chief Data Office to
implement strong data governance practices. • Identify accounting
data gaps, develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), and
coordinate technical remediation with IT. • Develop and refine the
accounting rules engine used for debit/credit generation. • Lead
finance data strategy workstreams and prepare updates and
presentations for senior management. • Support the development of
reconciliations, reporting processes, and financial control
frameworks. • Troubleshoot complex accounting and data issues
across Finance, Risk, and IT teams. • Support ongoing Finance
Transformation programs and broader organizational improvement
initiatives. Qualifications and Skills • 4-7 years of experience in
finance, data management, product control, or business analysis
within a financial institution. • Strong product?level accounting
knowledge across lending, deposits, securities, derivatives,
leasing, and fee?based products. • Demonstrated experience with
Oracle Cloud GL (AP, AR, FA, AHCS, ARC) and related data
conversions. • Experience with data governance disciplines
including data lineage, critical data elements, and accounting rule
design. • Ability to analyze complex accounting data and define
clear, structured problem statements. • Strong project management
skills with the ability to lead multi?stakeholder initiatives
independently. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
with experience producing management?ready materials. SMBC’s
