Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf
& Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1 years Deaf & Hard of
Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is
available for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support a
school-based setting, providing essential educational services to
students with hearing impairments. This full-time, onsite position
is based in Mooresville, NC, offering a rewarding role working
closely with a caseload of 10-12 students. Responsibilities include
delivering specialized instruction tailored to the needs of deaf
and hard of hearing students, collaborating with classroom teachers
and support staff, developing Individualized Education Programs
(IEPs), and monitoring student progress to ensure academic growth.
The specialist will also communicate effectively with families and
participate in team meetings to support student success.
Qualifications and experience required: - Current NCDPI Deaf / Hard
of Hearing Professional Educators License - Proven experience
working with deaf and hard of hearing students in an educational
setting - Ability to assess student needs and implement
individualized strategies - Strong collaboration and communication
skills to work with educators, families, and related service
providers - Knowledge of assistive technologies and resources to
support student learning This contract role operates on a standard
40-hour workweek, providing direct services onsite. The setting
fosters a focused environment for specialized educational support.
