Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide American Sign Language interpretation services in a dynamic high school environment, supporting a Deaf or hard of hearing student to ensure full access to instruction and classroom communication. Location: Greenwood, IN Setting: High School Duration: Current School Year (CSY) contract Schedule: MondayThursday: 7:00 AM 2:15 PM Friday: 7:00 AM 12:45 PM Onsite work required Key Responsibilities: Deliver clear and accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and facilitation during core content lessons and general coursework Support ongoing communication between the student, teachers, and peers throughout the school day Collaborate with educators to address the educational needs of students who are Deaf or hard of hearing Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while adapting to a fast-paced educational setting Desired Qualifications: Registration under the Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) and Transliteration Registration Act is required Proficient and fluent in American Sign Language Strong knowledge of the unique learning and communication needs of Deaf or hard-of-hearing students Ability to accurately interpret both oral and written directions Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with school staff and students This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to the academic success and inclusion of Deaf or hard-of-hearing students in a supportive onsite high school environment.
