Job Description:

The RoleEnergy Toolbase focuses on the modelling, intelligent control, and monitoring of distributed energy storage and photovoltaic systems. You will work with clients, field electricians, the operations team, and the engineering team to ensure successful delivery of our Acumen suite of products. You will bring your experience to effectively triage, debug, and solve important technical problems affecting our customers during both the pre-sales, installation, and maintenance phases of our projects. This is a key role that requires a technology generalist with strong fundamentals; capable of managing an influx of demands while providing exceptional customer service.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRespond to incoming issues and troubleshoot technical problems related to:Software deploymentDevice NetworkingBattery storage testingEnergy meter installationLinux systems administrationUse advanced tools to diagnose issues remotely and provide solutions in a timely fashionCollaborate with third parties to solve problems in a way that is consistent with Energy Toolbase's customer service approachInterface with software development and product teams to advocate for important customer facing issuesKeep up to date on new ETB product features and methods for diagnosing problems and resolving issuesParticipate in code reviews and technical discussions to help make changes to software toolsMaintain thorough documentation, logs, and metrics to ensure team is highly productiveKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong commitment to quality and customer satisfactionStrong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and analytical skillsStrong understanding of computer networking principles, particularly in relation to distributed Linux machines in an IoT contextEnthusiasm for learning new software concepts and toolsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment under time pressureExperience with Docker, git, Bash, networking, and Linux system administrationExposure to Python or a similar high-level languageFamiliar with server-side applications and RESTful APIsFamiliar with communication protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, SSH, Modbus, and CAN busFamiliar with databases (Redis, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, S3, etc.)Familiar with electrical single line diagramsUnderstanding of three-phase power concepts, including active and reactive power, quality factor, and inductive and capacitive loadsQualificationsEducationBachelors or certifications in Computer Science or related field.Bachelors or certifications in Electrical Engineering or related field would be considered an assetExperienceExperience working with customers to solve technically challenging problems.by Jobble
