Northside Auto is building toward an ambitious 3-year vision, and were looking for a turn-key, experienced Parts & Recon Manager who can own the entire reconditioning lifecycle (NOT just parts management) from intake to frontline ready and scale with us. We currently retail 3050 vehicles per month and are intentionally building the infrastructure to support 75 units per month while maintaining quality, speed, and profitability. This Is THE Opportunity Youve Been Looking For If Youre highly experienced in used vehicle reconditioning, parts management, and service operations You thrive in process, accountability, and KPIs You want real authority and ownership , not just a title Youre tired of being under-resourced and under-supported You want to build something the right way with leadership that invests in people, tools, and systems Who We Are Independent, family-owned dealership in Greer, SC Heavy focus on private-party acquisitions (not auction-dependent) Stand-alone Service Center located just minutes from the main store Strong technician roster and retail service expertise already in place EOS-driven leadership team that values clarity, accountability, and culture Owners who actively invest in technology, training, and process improvement Current systems include (but are not limited to): Rapid Recon CDK CarChief Role Overview The Parts & Recon Manager is responsible for owning the entire reconditioning and parts operation ensuring vehicles move efficiently from acquisition to frontline while controlling costs, maximizing technician efficiency, and minimizing post-sale issues. This role directly impacts inventory turns, gross profit, customer experience, and overall dealership scalability . CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Reconditioning & Workflow Management Own and manage the full recon pipeline from intake to frontline ready Coordinate vehicle flow between the Buy Center, Service Center, vendors, and sales Maintain aggressive but realistic recon timelines aligned with volume goals Reduce bottlenecks and continuously improve recon throughput Parts Management Oversee all parts ordering, sourcing, pricing, and inventory controls Ensure accurate estimates and minimal supplements Build strong vendor relationships to control cost and cycle time Prevent waste, over-ordering, and unnecessary reconditioning Technician & Vendor Coordination Partner closely with the Service Manager to maximize technician efficiency Ensure work is properly staged, approved, and dispatched Coordinate outside vendors (body, sublet, specialty repairs) as needed Hold vendors accountable to timelines and quality standards Quality Control & Policy Management Maintain recon quality standards to reduce: After-sale issues Service policy claims Comebacks and customer dissatisfaction Serve as a final checkpoint before vehicles are frontline ready Reporting, KPIs & Continuous Improvement Track and manage key metrics daily and weekly Identify trends, constraints, and improvement opportunities Communicate clearly with ownership and leadership on performance and needs Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ADR (Average Days in Recon) Service Policy / After-Sale Issues: Target Technician Efficiency & Productivity Recon Cost Control vs. Budget Frontline Readiness Accuracy & Timeliness Who You Are Proven experience managing used car recon and parts operations Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven Comfortable holding people and vendors accountable Strong communicator who collaborates well with leadership and technicians Calm under pressure and solutions-oriented Aligned with Northsides Core Values (Adaptability, Dedication, Community, Servant Attitude, Empathy, Merit, Kind Candor) Compensation & Benefits Full-time, salaried leadership role with bonus plan (compensation based on experience) Health insurance Paid time off Employee vehicle & service discounts Professional development & training assistance Direct access to ownership and decision-makers Real opportunity to grow with the company as volume scales
