A Snapshot of Your Day As a Manufacturing Engineer - New Product
Introduction, you will contribute to our business' success by
navigating a very dynamic and fast-paced environment while solving
various technical issues relating to sophisticated gas turbine
combustion components. You may participate in daily Gemba meetings
where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to
both standard production and various development initiatives. At
times, you will be on the shop floor closely working with the
operators to create a robust manufacturing process in anticipation
of new product release. How You'll Make an Impact Own the
development and introduction of new products into the Combustion
manufacturing portfolio by Identifying, justifying, and managing
projects for improving manufacturing capability, yields,
efficiency, and capacity. Develop, evaluate, and improve
manufacturing methods, applying knowledge of product design,
materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, programming
and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and
quality control standards Support and/or lead department capital
programs (implementation) and department improvement projects
Provide technical support on various manufacturing development
processes, vendor support, development cost models, and
departmental training for the respective development program Ensure
manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from
manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical
instructions, MIs, project briefings etc. Provide technical
mentorship and training to operators, technicians, and
manufacturing engineers on the use fixtures, tooling, and equipment
What You Bring BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a
related field. 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
involving assembly, welding/fabrication, and machining required -
PM experience is a plus. Ability to interpret sophisticated
drawings and specifications, including a solid understanding of
GD&T. Proven leadership skills in a multi-disciplinary team
environment through assertiveness, dialogue and coordinating timely
actions within the department and by outside influencers. Proven
understanding of root cause analysis and corrective/preventative
action methods, and exposure to lean concepts, MRP systems, quality
control systems. Practical understanding of SAP or equivalent MRP
software as well as Siemens NX CAD software or equivalent
preferred. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a
higher level or vice versa. Applicants must be legally authorized

internal transfers. About the Team Through our Gas Services
division, we enhance and innovate conventional and renewable power
supply. Currently, we're reducing carbon emissions of existing
assets and developing technologies that transform power generation
applications. Specifically, Combustion Component Manufacturing is
responsible for the manufacture of transition ducts and combustor
baskets primarily, that produce and deliver the hot gas into the
1st turbine stage of the gas turbine. We work closely with
combustion design engineering on the development of cutting-edge
technology which is evident in the newly released 9000HL gas
