levels.SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION This position reports directly to
the Plant Manager. This position has 3 direct reports: Process
Engineer, Production Manager and Shipping Supervisor.JOB DIMENSIONS
Manage and coordinate all production, process engineering and
shipping activities.The manufacturing manager is responsible for
all production activities, including enforcement of safety,
environmental, quality and corporate policies.Supervise
manufacturing processes and staff, ensures timely shipping of
products.KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DIRECT LEADERSHIP -
50%Directly supervise production manager,process engineer, and
Shipping Supervisor, and indirectly all production
personnel.Continuously supervise and improve production staff's
capability through effective training programs.Oversee the
Production Department daily work schedules to maintain adequate
staffing resources at the plant when needed.Coordinate the planned
operation of the Coatex plant's equipmentCoordinate production and
shipping activities to ensure quality material is available when
required.This includes helping create or change the weekly
production and shipping schedules as needed.Ensure cost effective
operation of facility by ensuring proper scheduling of manpower,
maintenance of systems, and conversion of raw materials.SAFETY AND
ENVIRONMENTAL - 25%Manage production personnel to guarantee their
safety at all times. Operate the facility in a manner that protects
the environment. Ensure production meets quality
standards.Understand plant environmental health and safety
regulations and comply with all applicable laws and regulatory
requirements.Maintain constant awareness of process hazards to
ensure safe handling and storage of process chemicals.Coordinate
the introduction of new products to the plant.Responsible for
operation of wastewater discharge systems.Maintain a clean and
orderly plant environment.REPORTING/COMMUNICATION - 25%Report plant
performance on a monthly basis to the management.Maintain auditable
records of physical inventory checks and reconciliations.Provide
input to the Maintenance and Engineering departments to help
maximize their efforts.Maintain SAP material master data. Other
duties as assigned.CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT This position requires
occasional afterhours work or a modified schedule to ensure that
site's needs are met.Cooperation with all departments on
siteDomestic and International travel may be requested.Understand
the hazards and risks associated with maintenance and repair
activities in a chemical manufacturing facility.Make independent
judgments concerning assigned tasks, considering safety and
environmental concernsSafely wear and/or use required personal
protective equipment.Supports the site HES policy and complies with
all regulatory and internal requirements.Participates in HES
activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g.,
Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.).Supports and promotes the
reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident
or injury incidents.Support and promote all Continuous Improvement
activities.REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred BS in Chemical Engineering, plus a minimum of ten years'
experience in a chemical manufacturing facility, including
automated process controls or other 4-year degree with 15 years'
experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.Minimum of 5 years'
experience working with chemical mixing and transfer.Strong
software skills are required in spreadsheet applications,
databases, and word processing.A minimum of 5 years of supervisory
responsibilities, and strong communication skills are
essential.Strong understanding of process control systems.Maintain
training required to ship hazardous and dangerous goods
internationally and domestically.Certification in a Lean/Six Sigma
practice preferredDEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES Technical
