Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Material Project Manager to join our Customer Service division in Lexington, NC. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with SAP in Production Planning and Material Management (PP/MM) system and possess advanced analytical skills. This role requires a strong ability to solve complex problems and work on the technical aspects of managing demand.

In this hands-on hole, you will collaborate with Project Managers, Production Controllers, Material Managers, Buyers, MRP Controllers, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement to achieve proper project execution. Data analysis, problem-solving, and attention to detail are crucial skills needed for success in this role. Your primary function is to ensure parts availability and support our Heavy Overhauls business.

What your day may look like:

  • Ensure On-Time Material Availability for Production and create transparency of current & future material issues by analyzing system need dates, supplier commitments, and current production status while improving Inventory turnover rate.
  • Implement solutions to overcome current & future Material Shortages. Coordinate and optimize Delivery schedules with critical Suppliers working with order management.
  • Creation of Demand in SAP and management of the network orders, reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM) explosion and its impact on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Consistently work on Demand & Supply to proactively identify gaps and work with MRP Controllers, Production Controllers, Materials Managers and Strategic procurement to eliminate the gaps.
  • Work proactively with Project Managers & Engineering to identify unreleased parts and evaluate the impact on production. If need be, raise to management.
  • Support planning & coordination of new Projects, New components, and Engineering Changes (ECNs) and assessing the impact on Production Schedules.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Project Management to develop roadmaps to phase out obsolete parts and phase in new product materials.
  • Coordinate with Quality Management & Production to understand critical production schedules and avoid impact due to non-conforming materials
  • Track important metrics and generate Reports, Charts & Presentations for End-to-End Performance.
  • Work on Material extensions, planning parameters for critical systems, early involvement in defining the best SAP setup for new projects/initiatives

    What you will need to be successful in this role:
    • 3-5 years of experience in procurement / SCM in a manufacturing environment.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field - business, commercial, manufacturing, or engineering degree.
    • Proficient in SAP in Production Planning and Material Management (PP/MM).
    • Highly analytical and numerically astute in interpreting large data sets, with advanced proficiency in Excel for complex data manipulation and reporting (i.e. complex VLOOKUP, concatenate, pivot table, graphs, etc.).
    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex SAP and/or process-related problems, leveraging analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making to identify innovative solutions and carry out implementation of them.
    • Experience in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

      • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of procurement, inventory control, and process control
      • Proficient understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, capacity analysis, and supply chain risk assessment
      • Results-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
      • Analytical and numerically astute with proven problem-solving abilities
      • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key team members.

          The salary range for this position in Lexington, NC $73,200-$98,900. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
