Upon the request of the physician, sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disease and or illness. Demonstrates clinical expertise for adult, pediatric patients. Also demonstrates clinical and technical expertise with respiratory equipment used in the adult ICU, general floor, emergency department and Family Birthplace. Ensures that all prescribed therapy is completed, charted and given in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. Provides in-service education, shift meetings and current updated policy and procedure guidelines for the Respiratory Care staff members. Will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision and values of Mercy.
