Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Discipline: Nurse Practitioner - Duration: Ongoing - Employment Type: Staff /n The Clinical Practice Specialist serves as the expert for nursing practice in assigned department/unit/service line. The Clinical Practice Specialist is responsible for helping create and promote a culture that promotes quality patient care and service excellence. Utilizes and teaches evidence based practices to develop the clinical competence of bedside caregivers. This position will engage and motivate staff to achieve a culture of clinical excellence by coaching, teaching encouraging, demonstrating and role- modeling expected behavior of staff. /n /n - Models, re-enforces and monitors care standards and makes recommendations for changes, creates implantation and evaluation plan /n - Collaborates with nursing staff in assessing patient, family and age specific nursing needs and develops place of care for complex high risk patients /n - Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to nursing staff in program implementation. /n - In coordination with Clinical Educators, implements education programs to ensure the quality of staff knowledge and skills.
