Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Monroe, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: RN - Neonatal ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Neonatal ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Strong NRP skills Ability to stabilize babies Description: The position is for an RN in the Neonatal ICU. The facility has 174 licensed beds. The unit consists of 7 beds. Patients typically include babies aged 32 weeks and above. Common diagnoses involve those needing a higher level of care, primarily growers and feeders. Patient ratios are generally 1:2 and occasionally 1:3 based on staffing. Core staff members will attend high-risk deliveries, but experience in catching babies is not required for travelers. Comfort in stabilizing babies is necessary. Support within the department includes a charge nurse, case manager, and a respiratory therapist available 24/7. Neonatologists are available 24/7 but may not always be in-house. Lactation consultants and remote telemonitoring services are also available for virtual consultations. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. IV pumps are Alaris, and the medication dispensing system is Omnicell. Monitors are Philips. Core staff may cross-train to other units, although travelers are not required to float. Travelers with pediatric or other unit experience may volunteer to float if they wish. Scheduling may include a weekend rotation that is unit-dependent. Travelers are encouraged to volunteer for holiday shifts if desired. Request for time off is subject to approval, with a maximum of 6 days off, excluding holidays. Shift times are from 7 PM to 7 AM.
