This contract position offers a challenging and rewarding role managing critically ill pediatric patients, including those with complex neurology post-operative care. Ideal candidates will bring a minimum of two years of PICU nursing experience and hold current BCLS and PALS certifications. Key Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years PICU nursing experience required Must hold current BCLS and PALS certifications Experience with neurology post-operative care preferred Skills in IV placement, lab draws, and chemotherapy administration are a plus Ability to float to other units as needed Prior traveler experience accepted, including first-time travelers meeting experience requirements Position Details & Responsibilities: 36 hours weekly, working 12-hour night shifts (18:45 07:15) Manage an 8-10 bed PICU unit with a target patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2, occasionally 1:3 based on acuity Care for patients aged 0-17 with diagnoses including respiratory issues, neurosurgery recovery, hematology/oncology cases (excluding cardiac surgery and dialysis) Float to other units when required and work every other weekend Scheduling coordinated by a dedicated scheduler to provide a collaborative work schedule Additional Information: No call requirements Casual dress code includes pediatric-friendly tops and navy blue pants Remote time off (RTO) policy strictly enforced with a maximum of 7 days allowed post-booking; on-site make-up or additional call-offs may result in cancellation This contract role is ideal for a skilled PICU nurse looking to contribute expertise within a supportive team and challenging care environment.
