Salem, North Carolina, 27103! Job Title: Registered Nurse

BCLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Experience with arterial lines
and titrating vasoactive drips - Proficiency in telemetry and
interpretation of dysrhythmias - Experience in blood product
administration and central/peripheral line management - Ability to
use rapid response teams and manage non-invasive airway equipment
Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked
out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could
possibly result in a cancelation. No block scheduling is permitted.
The unit operates similarly to an ICU. Strong drip experience is
essential. The target patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1. The unit will
accept contracts for 13 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per
week. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Patient
diagnoses include respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics,
withdrawal, GI bleeds, and post-operative cases. The unit
accommodates adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Special
equipment includes bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup.
Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. Chest
tubes, tracheostomy management, and non-invasive airway management
are part of the responsibilities. Candidates may float to a sister
unit as needed. Only one pressor drip is permitted per patient;
additional drips may warrant transfer. The unit has specific
policies regarding the management of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Compliance with protocols and participation in necessary training
is expected. Candidates must be adaptable and ready to work in a
fast-paced environment. Travelers must be comfortable floating to
other units based on skill sets and patient census. Nursing staff
must adhere strictly to all safety and isolation precautions. The
ability to manage high acuity patients is critical for this role. 5
