Performs morning Quality Assurance (QA) on the treatment unit, assessing whether all equipment is operating according to physics policy and calling the appropriate person immediately after equipment malfunctions. - Assists in maintaining department supplies and provides supervised education experiences for students that fulfill curriculum requirements of the academic institution. - As required by facility, participates in after hours on-call coverage, maintains competency with afterhours treatment coverage, performs 2D treatment calculations, and works with minimal direction and supervision. - Verifies the physician’s prescription and treatment parameters daily to ensure accurate treatment of the patient in accordance with the prescription and treatment plan. - Identifies the treatment volume and positions the patient in a consistent and reproducible manner. - Assesses patients’ needs and actively seeks to resolve any potential problems or conflicts, consulting with the chief therapist/supervisor as necessary. Performs all aspects of CT Simulation, including administering contrast agents during simulation localization under the direction of a physician or non-physician practitioner.
