Job Description:
Hours Per Week: • 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: •
M-F 8a-5p Pay Range • $174.40 - $279.05 Major Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Alignment • Develops and executes strategic
plans for anesthesia services across the Division that are aligned
to Enterprise, Divisional, and Area strategies and goals. •
Maintains deep understanding of broader industry and more local
trends and dynamics to ensure strategies appropriately incorporate
and account for key elements. • Maintains close, effective working
relationships with both employed and aligned anesthesia clinicians
and groups across the Division and ensures strategies pertaining to
these relationships and activities are optimized in accordance with
Divisional needs. • Ensures integration and optimization of the
academic and research mission related to Anesthesia services for
the Division. Operational Excellence • Oversee staffing models,
scheduling, and coverage plans for AAs, CRNAs and
anesthesiologists. • Monitor and improve key performance metrics
related to efficiency, patient throughput, resource utilization,
and others in alignment to organizational objective achievement •
Collaborate with Perioperative, Facility, and Surgery service line
leadership to promote optimal operating room efficiency with
alignment to best practices and Divisional standards. • Collaborate
with Area Presidents, Hospital Leaders, CMOs, and CNOs to ensure
consistent standards and practices are maintained and implemented.
• Represent Anesthesia services in Medical Staff meetings and
Divisional or Enterprise Councils as required. • Works closely and
effectively with their administrative dyad partner in all duties.
Quality & Safety • Maintain deep knowledge of clinical best
practices and evidence-based protocols and ensure their successful
implementation across all sites of care. • Ensure compliance with
regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks. • Maintain
responsibility for leading proactive initiatives to improve patient
outcomes and reduce clinical variation. • Engage in oversight,
planning, and execution of specialty duties related to peer review,
credentialing, and similar processes as required. Workforce
Engagement & Development • Foster a culture of collaboration,
innovation, professional growth, and accountability. • Maintain
focus on and alignment to our Best Place To Care culture and
strategies. • Leads workforce planning for the clinical areas in
collaboration with senior administrative leader, clinician
recruitment, and Division leadership. Partners with Division and
medical group leadership to develop and execute workforce plans
including candidate screening, interviews, contract discussions,
and onboarding support. • Performs human resources responsibilities
for staff which include interviewing and selection of new
employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations,
compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective
actions, terminations, and overall employee morale. • Responsible
for understanding and adhering to the organizations Code of Ethical
Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of
employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and
laws applicable to the organizations business. Financial
Stewardship • Partner with finance teams to manage budgets, monitor
cost centers, and evaluate ROI for service line initiatives. •
Participate in compensation planning and role evaluation processes
for new positions such as Anesthesia Practice Managers, Quality
roles, etc • Directly responsible for applicable budgets and
indirectly supports annual facility and growth budgets for all
venues where their clinical service activities occur. • Develops
and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls
expenditures within approved budget objectives. Minimum Job
Requirements Education • Doctorate Degree in Medicine Certification
/ Registration / License • Medicine and Surgery, MD-DO license
issued by the state in which the physician practices. Experience •
Typically requires 15 years of experience in physician leadership.
Board Certification in a clinical field. Includes 10 years of
management experience in overseeing physician practices, healthcare
administration, or strategic planning including developing and
executing multiyear business plans. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
• Ability to establish excellent working relationships and
strategic partnerships with various teams, physicians, executives,
and other team members across a large organization to achieve a
shared vision, values, and objectives. • Results oriented and
strong execution skills. • Tenacity and attention to detail to
effectively evaluate programs. • Ability to successfully work in a
matrixed organization. Analytical and problem-solving skills,
creative facilitation, and innovation in collaboration with leaders
across the organization. • Skills in consulting,
designing/conducting studies, and developing/implementing solutions
for issues with significant finical and operational impact on the
organization. • Knowledge of trends in health care delivery and
understanding of health care dynamics within an integrated health
care system. • Financial acumen and excellent communications
skills. • Strong emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion. •
Proven experience in Change management and leadership. Physical
Requirements and Working Conditions • Will generally be exposed to
a normal office environment. • This position requires travel so
will be exposed to weather and road conditions. • May be exposed to
human blood and body fluids, so therefore must wear protective
clothing as required. • Must have functional speech, vision, smell,
touch and hearing. • Must be able to operate all equipment
essential in performing the job. Preferred Job Requirements
Preferred Education • Advanced degree in research, policy,
healthcare administration or business. Preferred Certification /
Registration / License • Holds an active clinical license. This job
