There is no on call or weekend work, and we observe 10 paid federal holidays.Additional Benefits include:Competitive WagesMedical/Dental/Vision BenefitsShort & Long Term DisabilityInsuranceLife InsurancePaid Time Off401(k)Malpractice InsuranceAs a Primary Care Physician/ Medical Director with Primary Care Solutions, you will enjoy the privilege of providing healthcare of the highest quality to Americas Veterans as part of a Patient Aligned Care Team, and will have an active role in developing and implementing a patient care plan.The general duty of the Internal Medicine/Primary Care Physician is to provide outpatient primary medical services to Veterans and to supervise the Community Based Outpatient Clinic's day-to-day delivery of medical care.Primary FunctionsExamines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders and determines nature and extent of injury or disorder, performs comprehensive physical examination, referring to diagnostic images and tests, and using medical instruments and equipment and documents all medical information into the patients electronic medical record utilizing the VAs VISTA/CPRS electronic patient record system. Maintains confidentiality of patients and employees data and information.Orders and performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, laboratory tests, suturing, and wound care. Etc. and interprets test results for deviations from normal and provides follow up care.Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity program as indicated by diagnosis.Refers patient to the VA medical specialist when indicated.Counsels patients on the use of prescription medications, educates patients, assesses mental health issues, and provides routine health maintenance.Develops and implements patient management plans, and assists in provision of continuity of care through the PCMM (Primary Care Management Module).Evaluates patients records from medical providers outside the VA and works with these patients utilizing rules set forth by the VA for co-managed care.Inspects and makes recommendations regarding infections control and elimination of health and safety hazards.Supervises and evaluates Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants working in collaborative practice.Responsible for Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and Environment of Care. Conducts monthly clinic staff meetings and submits minutes that in cooperation with the Clinic AdministratorCompletes any and all clinical reminders due at the time of each patient visit.Required SkillsPossess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).Successful completion of a residency program in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with recognition by the American Board of Medical Specialties or by the American Osteopathic Association.Retention of an active, full and unrestricted medical license in the state in which the physician practices. (State specific license in which the CBOC is located will be required).Board-Certified or Board eligible within four (4) years of residency completion in either Internal Medicine and/or Family Practice.Retain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS).*Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly desired.Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques in accordance with the community and VA standards of practice.Knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, including desired effects, side effects, complications, and patient usage considerations.Knowledge of the basic concepts of customer service technique related to age-specific population.Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language along with proper telephone etiquette.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and basic computer maneuverability.If youre looking for an organization that cares for your growth and well-being as much it does its patients, Apply Today!
