The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.Credit Operations within the Cards, Retail and Merchant Services business seeks to hire a Business Support Consultant 1 to support the consumer credit card Manual Underwriting group. This role consults with management and business partners on performance improvement opportunities and execution of key priorities including new initiatives and follow through to implementation.- Leads a variety of diverse support functions simultaneous including operational assignments, SOP administration, employee training and development plans, business continuity planning, performance data analysis and monitoring of control management.-The Business Support Consultant 1 will be immersed into the day to day functions of the Manual Underwriting group and will engage directly with his or her peers and LOB Senior Lending Manager to share insights as well as gather feedback on our operational opportunities. Additional responsibilities include and not limited to gather data, conduct analysis and provide guidance to improve operational performance and achievement of key objectives.Key to success for this role-- Gathers data and translates into improvement opportunities.- Creates proposals and business/use cases- Implementation and follow through of assigned key initiatives- Identify/recommends training programs- Recommends, creates new or enhance standard operating procedures.-- Administer programs to monitor execution of critical tasks and BAU processes- Uncover inconsistency in the process and takes action to recommend/develop programs resolution.- Leverages data to identify trends and root cause analysis-- Handles all recommended SOP changes.- Organizes weekly business updates stays in the know with broader team activities on the front-line.- Supports various time sensitive deliverables as they occur (partner feedback, communication, strategy)Key interactions:-Senior Lending Manager, Front-Line Managers, LOB Group Leader, Other Functional area leadership and various business partners to present business and recommend strategies to implement changes and improvements.-Will assess business risk/ control assessment at process level.-Will work with key internal and/or external partners, to distill complex concepts into pragmatic and simplified solutions.*** Position must be located at 8740 Research Dr, Charlotte, NC 28262-8570.- There is no flexibility in regards to location***

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning demonstrated through work or military experience

    • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs
    • Experience translating business needs into complex analysis, designs and recommendations
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives
    • Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods used to: measure and communicate key performance metrics (KPIs)
    • Ability to deliver dynamic presentations to business clients
    • Ability to present results of analyses and recommendations to senior leaders
    • Experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting

      Other Desired Qualifications
      - Strong business acumen and knowledge of the cards payment business- Knowledge of Manual Underwriting process and policies both new Acquisitions and Account Management.- Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements- Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and line of business needs- Ability to execute in a high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities- Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions- Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills- Experience monitoring performance metrics, including KPI and KRI- Ability to create strong visual presentations and deliver to management
