      • - Return to the home page Printable Format Job Description VP, Hardware Technology Integration - 2300006Y Description VP, Hardware Technology Integration Description Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations, 3D Systems seeks an experienced engineering leader to lead the integration of recent technology acquisitions into our engineering team and maximize the productivity, synergy, and rate of scaling newly acquired technologies. The Vice President of Hardware Technology Integration will be responsible for creating and executing integration strategies, mentoring acquired engineering teams, and identifying and eliminating organizational roadblocks that can slow such initiatives. The successful candidate will combine a strategic approach with a steadfast focus on execution, is an expert at designing and implementing systems and processes that scale, is extraordinary at driving efficient, repeatable processes and loves continuously improving processes, products, and teams. Initially, the primary responsibility for this role will be the leadership of the DP Polar R&D team in Eggenstein, Germany and delivery of critical product development programs. Key Responsibilitie
        • Direct, plan, and manage 3D Systems' Research and Development activities related to DP Polar printing technologies.
        • Manage and mentor the engineering team, including hiring, training, performance management, and career development
        • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of products, ensuring high quality, scalability, and performance
        • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, materials development, operations, sales, and service to ensure successful product delivery
        • Ensure the engineering team follows best practices for new product development including design to cost, design for manufacturability, design for serviceability, design for reliability, and other key factors for success.
        • Continuously improve our engineering processes and methodologies, driving innovation and efficiency
        • Monitor and analyze key engineering metrics and KPIs, and report regularly to executive management
        • Develop and manage assigned engineering budgets, ensuring we optimize resources and investments to achieve our goals
        • Manage, mentor, and guide the team to ensure on-time and on-budget commercialization of safe and effective products
        • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and operations teams to help establish supply chain and production processes
        • Participate in the evaluation of candidate technologies and the integration of acquired technologies as assigned.
        • Assist in developing and implementing the engineering strategy and roadmap to maximize the payback of acquired technologies Qualifications Qualifications Required
          • 15(+) years of experience in the development and design of high-tech capital equipment
          • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field of study
          • Proven ability to drive technical innovation across diverse, global teams.
          • 8+ years of experience managing engineering teams
          • 8+ years of experience leading engineering product development from early stage to production deployment
          • Track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external partners
          • Team player with excellent communication skills
          • Self-motivated, hands-on, practical mindset, and capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals
          • Ability to resolve complex issues in a creative, efficient, and effective way
          • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred
            • 10+ years of experience in the development and design of additive manufacturing equipment
            • Masters or Ph.D. in relevant engineering discipline
            • Leadership experience with new product development of additive systems
            • Experience integrating and scaling acquired products, technologies, and teams into existing organizations
            • Product roadmap experience in the additive industry
            • Proven ability to drive the product development process, within deadline and budget
