Job Description:
Ryder, a renowned leader in logistics and transportation, seeks
a dedicated Transportation Manager to enhance our supply chain
operations. This role focuses on strategic planning and execution
of transportation strategies to ensure timely delivery and
efficiency across our services. The Transportation Manager will be
a pivotal figure in driving innovation and optimizing our fleet
management, aligning with Ryders commitment to excellence and
client satisfaction. Develop and implement strategic transportation
plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Manage daily
operations of transportation departments, ensuring compliance with
company and regulatory policies. Coordinate with other managers to
integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as
customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping. Analyze
expenditures and other financial information to develop plans,
policies, or budgets for increasing profits or improving services.
Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain
efficiency or sustainability. Plan or implement improvements in
transportation services, aiming for optimization of fleet usage,
compliance, and overhaul. Monitor spending against the department's
budget and conduct periodic reviews to ensure budget adherence.
Lead, guide, and evaluate the work of transportation personnel to
ensure a high standard of service delivery. Strong leadership and
decision-making skills Proven ability to manage budgets and
understand financial statements Excellent communication and
negotiation skills Deep understanding of compliance and safety
regulations in transportation Proficiency with logistic software
