JOB SUMMARY: The Solutions Leader is a highly visible leadership role with corporate responsibility for the additive manufacturing Service Bureau market, in addition to other growth markets. They will be the primary solutions champion and business leader in these assigned verticals, and they will engage and own the strategy, product portfolio, business development, and go-to-market. They will define the strategic direction based on a deep understanding of the market, customer applications, and the competitive landscape. They will leverage this to define and advance an industry-leading solutions portfolio that drives customer experience, grows market share, and ultimately drives growth and profitability. They will collaborate with marketing in global market strategies and industry campaigns that establish 3D Systems brand and presence in these markets. Then provide business development leadership to identify and engage key accounts, channel partners, and strategic alliances that drive long-term growth and incremental market penetration. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS * Serve as corporate solutions champion and expert in Service Bureaus and other target markets, to articulate a clear vision for how to win in the market place and create a sustainable competitive advantage. * Provide leadership and oversight for these businesses, engaging in critical cross-functional activities across the enterprise that directly affect your markets, from product to supply chain. * Define and execute the target market strategy. Gain a deep market understanding through analysis of the market opportunity and attractiveness, market trends and AM value proposition, customer challenges, applications, and competitive landscape. * Engage with customers and collaborate with the applications innovation group (AIG) to understand customer applications and needs, and identify new solution and innovation opportunities. * Use market understanding to identify and define the solutions portfolio that improves customer experience, grows market share, and ultimately drives growth and profitability. Constantly assess new ways to increase market penetration, including new products, services, strategic partnerships/alliances, business development, and acquisitions. * Provide direction and prioritization input to the product roadmap to ensure an industry-leading solutions portfolio is developed (hardware, software, materials, and service). Collaborate with product management and R&D to scope opportunities, develop business cases, and provide clear input on customer problems to be resolved. Engage effectively with executive leadership to ensure your markets appropriately influence the product roadmap priorities. * Guide product management and R&D from concept to launch for multiple products, ensuring they meet customer application needs and delivery expectations, and collaborate closely with marketing and sales on market positioning to ensure successful new product introductions (NPIs). Develop presentations and deliver training to the sales team and channel partners. * Direct marketing in global market strategies and industry campaigns that establish 3D Systems brand and presence in key markets, driving demand and lead generation, focused on applications and complete solutions. Define solution messaging, positioning, and value proposition; and collaborate with segment marketing on content development. * Provide business development leadership to identify and engage key accounts, channel partners, and strategic alliances that drive long-term growth and incremental market penetration. Develop and execute key account action plans. * Understand the competitive landscape, including 3D System's solution positioning and ability to win. Anticipate risks and identify latent opportunities through experience with the industry. Take proactive steps to defend and grow market position, including defining action plans and investments required (promotions / product). * Responsible for the financial health of your vertical(s). Ensure they meet and exceed segment financial goals including revenue, gross margin, and market share. Proactively work with finance and sales operations to know all financials associated with your markets. * Active in industry publications, trade shows, and social media. * Demonstrate and help drive a culture of quality, innovation, and collaboration. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Training * Bachelor's degree required * MBA and/or Master's degree highly preferred Experience * 10 years of experience in strategy & business development, product management, and/or strategic marketing in an additive manufacturing company; with increasing levels of responsibility. * Demonstrated expertise and experience with Service Bureaus, preferably with understanding and/or experience in additive manufacturing solutions for other high-tech industries. * Demonstrated experience to take an emerging market and drive growth. * Demonstrated leadership in pivoting a company from point products to end-to-end solutions. * Experience and proven ability to operate swiftly and efficiently in a high growth environment. * International experience and/or experience working effectively and efficiently in a matrixed environment spanning multiple time zones. * Prior P&L experience preferred, but candidates with the right experience will be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Industry/domain expertise in the Service Bureaus market, preferably with understanding and/or experience in additive manufacturing solutions for other high-tech industries. * A strong leader that demonstrates high integrity (accountability and follow-through). Demonstrated knowledge and ability to predict where an industry is headed so that disruptive and competitive solutions portfolios can be defined and launched. * A strong bias toward action. Takes accountability for making decisions to move the solution forward. * Effectively engages cross-functional peers, and is comfortably engaging with senior management. * Solid business acumen, analytical skills, and a rational approach to solving problems. Can make difficult prioritization trade-offs, assess risks/challenges as they arise and quickly deploy action plans. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate across multiple functions, geographies, cultures, and levels of management within a matrixed work environment. * A high degree of entrepreneurial spirit, independence, flexibility, reliability, and positivity. * Has a life-long learner mindset and seeks feedback and coaching. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
