Job Description:

SUMMARY: Manage the overall operation of the Digester, Bleach Plant, Screen Room, HD Storage, and Turpentine systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operation of the Fiberline with an emphasis on safety, reliability, cost, quality, and environmental compliance.
Provide leadership and direction necessary to achieve safety goals.
Coordinate maintenance activities for the Fiberline areas with the Maintenance counterpart.
Work with hourly Team Leaders, Pulp & Utility area Assistant Superintendents, and Line Managers to meet product quality and production requirements.
Coordinate with the Line Manager and Team Development Supervisor to improve the skills and productivity of the Fiberline area employees.
Implement short and long-term strategies designed to improve safety performance, increase operating efficiency, and reduce cost.
Continue to drive a culture change towards self-directed work teams.
Develop and manage area operating budgets.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee business activities in your areas of responsibility; including supervision of shift supervisors and department scheduling
Develop your organization to ensure long and short term goals and objectives are met.
Transfer knowledge to salaried staff and prepare them for future advancement opportunities

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year engineering degree or equivalent operational experience in a Kraft Pulping environment.
Good understand of the operation of an integrated pulp & paper mill.
Excellent leadership ability, including strong problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
Demonstrated supervisory experience in similar environments.
Ability to train and mentor direct reports.
Outstanding communication skills, includes ability to recognize contributions, make effective presentations, and can quickly build trust and respect.
Demonstrated ability to balance priorities to meet short and long-term goals.
Functional use of various office productivity products and enterprise planning systems.
Possesses an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.
