Project Engineer - SystemsBUSINESS: Pumping Technologies LOCATION: Monroe, NCDIRECT REPORTING: Engineering ManagerFUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Engineering Position SummaryThis position is located in the CIRCOR Monroe manufacturing site. This facility houses the production line for several positive displacement pump brands as well as the North American facility for Systems Engineering. The North American Systems group designs and packages CIRCOR pumps into systems.They are responsible for coordinating with multiple departments to translate customer needs into designing technical solutions which fulfill customer requirements and meet internal design standards, under consideration of budget. This associate is a technical expert and is expected to personally engineer and ensure compliance with specifications of customer orders.The Systems Project Engineer assigns work priorities within the systems engineering group and is responsible for maintaining daily status of active systems orders. The have responsibility for meeting all routine order and large project engineering deadlines. They forecast resource requirements, train less experienced associates and check the work of others.Responsibilities include reviewing and understanding all project requirements, selecting the proper equipment, creating the system in a 3D CAD system, generating customer facing documents, generating 2D fabrication drawings and sourcing documents, creating a bill of material and working with an ERP system to transfer engineering to production and procurement. The Systems Project Engineer will coordinate with Application Engineering to advise on technical quotations and to transition new projects into engineering. They may also be required to work with and co-ordinate with other remote CIRCOR Engineering resources as needed to meet the project timeline. The position will also require working with outside vendors to source technically accurate equipment that meets customer requirements while maintaining the project budget.Typical equipment and project scope would include aligning a CIRCOR pump with an electric motor or other driver, designing a structural base, piping and tubing, and selecting the appropriate instrumentation. Additional equipment such as seal systems, valves, supports, coupling and guards are sometimes required.Other duties include the development of Lean Standard Work / Engineering best practice standards, DFMEA, PFMEA, RCCA and Kaizen activities. Educational RequirementsA bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years work experience in mechanical or systems design with an emphasis on fluids, piping and rotating equipment.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred but not required
• Candidate should be well versed in a three-dimensional CAD drafting package (Solid Edge preferred, Creo or Solidworks also acceptable)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
• Experience in controls and control systems is preferred.Skill RequirementsMust have strong verbal and written skills.
