Job Summary
Responsible to ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy
to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital within
an assigned operational area. Responsible for compliance with
Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual
(AIM), General Operations Manual guidelines (GOM), and thorough
knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities -

Additional Job Requirements
Subject to applicable laws and Air Method's policies, regular
attendance is an essential function of the position. - All
employees must follow Air Methods' employment practices and
policies.
i. FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter
Rating, BA or BS degree and ATP preferred.
ii. 2500 hours helicopter, 1000 hours turbine, 1000 hours
Pilot-in-Command, 150 hours night (unaided), and 100 hours
instrument (50 hours actual).
iii. Instrument qualified and current in assigned aircraft, night
vision device (NVD), and night qualified and current in assigned
aircraft.
iv. Factory approved or equivalent ground and flight school in
assigned aircraft.
v. Each Captain and pilot must maintain currency in the proposed
aircraft and receive recurrent training every six months, together
with a FAR Part 135 VFR and IFR flight check (as appropriate) (not
applicable to the Part 91 pilot).
vi. FAA First Class Medical required annually and allowed to
transform to a Second Class Medical upon expiration at the 6 month
interval. Any of the above requirements may be waived by MCA in its
sole discretion.
