POSITION PURPOSE
This individual is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production. -This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. -The Buyer Planner will report directly to (above) and is responsible for maintaining a positive work environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DUTIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. - - - - -AS, BS degree and/or equivalent work experience.
2. - - - - -Minimum of 3- years' experience purchasing raw materials in a manufacturing environment.
3. - - - - -Experience buying chemical raw materials preferable.
4. - - - - -Working knowledge of MRP systems preferably SAP.
5. - - - - -In-depth understanding of MRP concepts including bills of material.
6. - - - - -Must be "hands on" and persistent with strong follow up skills.
7. - - - - -Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
8. - - - - -Required to have an extensive working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook.
9. - - - - -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works independently, displays initiative, and solves problems with proficiency.

JOB DUTIES:
1. - - - - -Analyze planned orders from MRP system and place orders in a timely manner consistent with ISO procedures.
2. - - - - -Consistently and completely update Purchase Orders with information from supplier's communication, delivery dates, materials issues, pricing
3. - - - - -Inform interested parties of materials issues: delivery, quality, shortages, changes.
4. - - - - -Attend weekly production meetings.
5. - - - - -Provide material forecast from MRP system to suppliers at the SKU level.
6. - - - - -Monitor/Maintain /Manage inventories to ensure continuous production while maximizing turns.
7. - - - - -Develop thorough working knowledge of assigned commodities and associated supplier base, through contact and communication with suppliers. Take initiative to foster relationships with suppliers.
8. - - - - -Develop a thorough working knowledge of required MRP / ERP systems.
9. - - - - -Bring ideas to management and ISO team and be able to implement necessary purchasing process improvements.
10. -Able and willing to work necessary hours.
11. -Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
